Powder Playbook: Thanksgiving in Vail
We don’t know about you, but somehow Thanksgiving snuck up on us! The holidays are here, and we’re excited to celebrate with you. Things we’re thankful for this year? Our snow surface teams! Snowmakers, cat operators, and the teams that keep them running have been hard at work, battling warm temperatures and dry conditions to make sure we can ski and ride this early season. They’ll continue to work throughout the early season to open as much terrain as quickly as possible.
Here are some tips for you to make the most out of your holiday with us!
Mountain Access:
Make sure you have your Epic Pass or lift ticket, and check your blackout dates if you aren’t on an unrestricted pass. This year, Pass Restrictions are in place on 11/24 and 11/25. If you haven’t purchased an Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass, don’t worry – they're still on sale through December 3.
TIP: Download the new My Epic App and use Mobile Pass which has your pass on your phone!
Terrain:
Like we said, the team has been battling Mother Nature to make sure you can get out on the hill and slide on snow. They are working day and night to make snow for skiing and riding, while also connecting our villages and bringing top-to-bottom skiing. Follow our social media accounts (@VailMtn) for the latest terrain alerts!
TIP: Keep an eye out on social media and the My Epic App for terrain updates!
Dining:
If variety is what you’re looking for, the dining team at Vail Mountain has opened its doors at Mid Vail (Look Ma and Terrace Levels), Buffalo’s & Rocky’s Roadhouse, Eagle’s Nest and The 10th. Some of our favorites include the Ramen Bowl at Mid Vail, the breakfast sandwich at Buffalo’s, signature grilled cheeses at Eagle’s Nest and of course... the Truffle Fries at The 10th.
Looking for a bite in the Village? Visit Express Lift Après Bar at the base of Gondola One, Cucina in Vail Village, Tavern on the Square in Lionshead Village or Revel Lounge at The Hythe. Each location offers the perfect après cocktails and bites.
TIP: It’s OK to indulge a little during the holidays, but never fear – healthy options are available.
Village:
Our biggest tip during the holidays? Explore our villages, keep an ear out listening for live music, and make your dinner reservations. There’s cheer around every corner of our pedestrian friendly and quaint, but cosmopolitan villages.
TIP: Make sure you have your dinner reservations at one of the amazing restaurants in our villages.
Thanks for spending your holiday with us, and stay tuned for more tips in the next Powder Playbook!
