Drop Off and Pick Up Information

The Vail Ski & Snowboard School has two base areas where Child Group Lessons meet. The lesson location, as selected at the time of booking, will be listed on your confirmation email.

At both locations, the check-in process follows the same steps. Note that if you arrive to lesson-check-in late or at the wrong location we may not be able to accommodate you in a lesson for that day.

Step 1:
Equipment
  • If you are picking up rental gear, please arrive 60-90 minutes early, or if possible, the day before your lessons to collect your equipment.
Step 2:
Vouchers & Tickets
  • All lessons require a valid lift ticket or season pass to participate.
  • If it is your child’s first day in group lessons, you will first need to go to the lobby of the location that you have purchased to pick up your child’s pre-printed registration packet before heading to the Child Group Lesson meeting locations.
Step 3:
Lesson Check-In
  • Please arrive at your lesson’s meeting location at least 30 minutes before the start time to allow time for check-in, guest experience support as needed, and meeting your instructor.
  • The meeting locations for 3-6 group lessons and 7-15 group lessons are separated but in close proximity in both locations at both Children's Centers.
  • Our Children’s Centers are daily open from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Lesson Start and Pick-Up Times

Please make sure to confirm location and pick-up times with child’s specific instructor. The instructor will provide a summary of their lesson, a progress report and preview future lessons at pick-up.

  • Half Day (Ages 3-4): 9:30am - 12pm
  • Full Day (Ages 3-6): 9:30pm - 3pm
  • Full Day (Ages 7-15): 9:30pm - 3:30pm

What to Expect

  • All group lessons are sorted by sport, age, and ability level.
  • The instructor will determine lesson plans based on the group's ability level and goals.
  • All participants will explore terrain aligned to their ability level while practicing new techniques at their own pace.
  • Lunch is included with Full Day Child Group Lessons only. For all other lessons, the instructor will provide breaks for food, water and rest as appropriate.
  • If your child brings snacks, please do not pack any that contain tree nuts.
  • Restroom breaks are built into the day, but all participants are encouraged to use the restroom prior to the lesson start time.

Gear
Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment and boots if already owned. If renting, please arrive an hour prior to your lesson start time to ensure enough time for pick up.

Helmets

A winter sport helmet is required for all lesson participants aged 14 and under, and 18 and under in designated children’s lessons. We strongly encourage helmet use for all ages. Helmets can be included along with a rental order or rented separately.

Clothing & Accessories
Waterproof snow pants and gloves or mittens are required to keep you warm and dry. Goggles are also required to protect your eyes from the cold air and block UV light.
