State Policies & Regulations

Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and Colorado’s "Ski Safety Act," provides the legal guidelines surrounding the risk skiers and riders assume as well as the statutory duties skiers and operators must perform.  

 

Skier and rider duties include (but are not limited to) riding within your abilities, yielding the right-of-way to downhill skiers and riders, and avoiding collisions. Breach of skier duties constitutes negligence.
